matt: to me life sometimes seems like a room with many doors. you choose a door and step through it into another room with many doors. now by doing this you have chosen one, but you have also left some doors behind, and exposed yourself to a few more. then you repeat the process, and walk through the house that is your life. room by room, situation by situation. some times other people are walking thru with you, sometimes you walk alone. written on these doors is the situation behind it, mind you. we

Ever Wonder?

  • Mood: happy-go-lucky
  • Music: the hum of the computer
  • Weather: sunny

Here is a thought, maybe even a suggestion if you have nothing else to go on.

You see most of my friends are not Christians. So i have a hard time witnessing because I know their thoughts and opinions. I know that it shouldnt' matter. Anyways one of my girlfriends and I were talking about God and she told me that she never talks to God. I didn't know what to say except;

"Every time you say "Oh God i wish i could do something or God its a beautiful day or Oh my God please help me" your talking to Him and He is hearing you" She thought about it. Not only did she stop taking Gods name in vain.......because she kept my words in her heart, but when ever she says God again she remembers that He hears her. I know this may sound silly and i am having a hard time putting it into words.......but i was thinking if you could tell people that you knew about it perhaps they would stop saying it so much. I am using it also as a missionary tool. When a friend says that now after i have explained the above i just say "He is listening" it keeps them reminded. When they say Gods name in vain.......i also say God is listening.....it reminds them not to say it. They remember......soon they stop taking Gods name in vain....maybe they only do it around me but at least they are thinking about it. I hope this doesn't sound crazy......LOL

Anyways i have promised my daughter that we would make Apple Crisp tonight so i am going now to do just that.

God Bless †

Hey there! I have been on the outs, with being ill and busy. Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. Wow, what a great couple of posts!! I love the idea of reminding people about their usr of God's name :) First I wanted to comment on your last post, an encouragement I hope! I have a good friend who had a child and was a single mom for 5 years. Now in that time, God really grew her, and shaped her and then brought her a Godly husband. she said she started to grow weary of waiting, but knew that the time she had alone helped her to stand steadfast in waiting for a Godly husband. Anyways, it has been so neat to see her prayers being answered. It's amazing!
Hey, the tomatoe staking thing, you can read about it in full at the Woodshed site I have a link to from my journal. In a nut shell it's about keeping your child (denpending how dispbedient they are) with in arms reach, or in the same room as you. That way you catch EVERY act of rebelion, disobedience or in my case with 4 kiddos, you know who hit who :oThat way you are able to correct them on the spot and train them to obey first time. In my case, since we are starting late (my oldest just turned 7) we have our work cut out for us! I started in earnest yeasterday (before I got sick!!) and this will be VERY draining. BUt I know it will be well worth it. When I went to visit my sister she was appalled by my (then) 6 yo behavior. She's a nurse and has taken care of lots of kids and she sid my dd's behavior is something yousee in a 12 year old, not a 6 year old!!!:o:o:o She is sassy, sassy and di I mention sassy? All of the guilt is on us, her parents as we did not deal with the issue when she was two! But we are dealing with it now, and I am determined to see us all through this. I have been praying heavily for her and how to gain her heart and how to deal with each and every situation that comes our way. And I know that God will lead me.
Gotta go,
Kerri

Oh, yeah, I forgot about the background...Well this is what I did, and I'm not sure if I will be of much help. First I did a Google search on free backgrounds. I found the one I liked and right clicked on it. I clicked "save" and then I saved it to "my pictures" which if a file I have on my computer. You can put it anywhere that you can find it later :P Then I went into the service manager of bravenet and clicked on "web journal". In there you will find a section where youcan put in your own background. They give you the option of a plain color or you can add your own. From there you have to find your saved image and put it in the box. I *think* that is how it was done. If not, tell me and I will ask my dh who is the computer know it all around here! Now for the pictures...are youtalking about the photo album? If so, you need to sign up for that service at bravenet. You just go to the service manager and there is a section of unregistered services. You click on the photo journal to get your own album. Then when you go to the service manager in the future the photo album feature will be listed up there along with your journal. You click on the photo album to access you album. It lists a bunch of options, one of them being, "upload images". You click on there, then it tells you to pick an album. I personally have a couple, one entitled "friends and family" and another, "Pictures of the Week". Depending on what type of pic I have to upload will determine what album I choose. You pick the album, then it has a "browse" button. Click on that to find your pictures from your computer (you'll have to have your pics saved to your computer first). Choose the pic you want and make sure it is below the size limit. To do that you will need some sort of editing feature on your computer. For pics that are too big, I either crop or save it at a lower resolution (or both!). Then after you choose your pic you click "uplaod". then it takes you to a new screen
